Lindeville Highway Turns Into a Brown Sea of Whiskey

A Lindeville highway had to temporarily close Monday after a semi trailer carrying cases of Jack Daniel’s Whiskey turned the roadway into a brown sea of glass.

The multi-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 5 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 98 about 50 miles north of Lindeville, the Lindeville Highway Patrol stated in a press release.

The pileup began when one semitrailer was cut off by a small SUV while changing lanes, Lindeville Police said. That forced other semis to break to miss the accident, but some failed to stop and collided with a pickup truck and another one of the stopping semis.

The semi that failed to stop was filled with cases of the Killer Whiskey. Minor injuries were reported by everyone involved, Lindeville Police says.

The inside shoulder and travel lanes were opened to traffic by 9:45 a.m., and the rest of the roadway was reopened around noon, police said.
