Through teary eyes, Pete Peets, the Groundskeeper of the park, thanks Lindeville residents for the outpouring after the downpour.
Last Thursday, the historic “Dennis Linde Park” was destroyed by the immense storm that came through Lindeville. The fences in the outfield were shattered by a massive tree that came crashing down into center field which also created a giant crater on the field.
Groundskeeper Pete discovered the wreckage on Friday morning and was devastated by what he saw.
“In my many years of caring for this field, I had never seen it in such rough shape. I was really not sure if
teams
would be able to Play Ball in that condition. There was just so much work that had to be done to restore it.”

Kristine Fisher, Pete’s neighbor, has called on all of the residents of Lindeville to help rebuild this beloved ballpark. On Saturday morning, the citizens of Lindeville came together to repair the fences and fix the outfield grass at “Dennis Linde Park”. Pete could not hold back his tears after seeing his friends and neighbors help him repair the ballpark that he so dearly loves. Pete gives this heartwarming story one thumbs up.
